Just a tiny hamlet's public house...
with a long and colourful history.
As most country pubs have, The Hoops started as an unassuming family home which turned into the local watering hole. Through each decade since, there’s a rich story unfolding… filled with brawls, artists, airmen, and all the lovely locals who give it the character it maintains today.
Our More Recent Story
When The Hoops closed its doors in 2022, our village was sorely disappointed. After finally making it through the woods of lockdown, the death of our beloved Queen, more Prime Ministers than anyone could count, and opening our homes to fleeing Ukrainians, it was a real blow to realize the Hoops would no longer be available to gather in for a family meal, a birthday party, or a casual chat over a pint.
After years of hard work to get us to this point, we are delighted (to say the least) to re-open The Hoops' doors once more! We truly hope it will again take a place of pride in the hearts of our locals, and be a warm haven for friends and family to gather round a table together, rest weary legs, have a chin-wag, water their dog, tie up their horse, and enjoy taking time over good food and drink... the whole purpose of a resurrected, quintessential country village pub.
